Note: All horses purchased at the 2025 National Yearling Sale which are trained by Arna, are Next Gen Eligible. To find out more click here.
What's the minimum share?
Shares start at 2.5% however as Harness Racing New Zealand only allow 10 individual owners, we may need to consider getting a group of people together to form a syndicate. This will be confirmed once we have an understanding of the number of owners per horse.
Note: ADHR is not an authorised syndicator.
Apart from the purchase price, what other expenses are incurred on sale day?
Harness Million Sales Race Series
All horses purchased at the Sale are eligible for NZB Standardbred’s lucrative Harness Million Sales Race Series. The Series consists of principal two-year-old and three-year-old races for colts and geldings, fillies and trotters individually, where NZB Standardbred graduates can contest for their share in a one million dollar prizepool.
There is a qualifying fee and an entry fee which will be paid for all horses purchased by ADHR.Endoscopic Examination
All horses purchased by ADHR will undergo an endoscopic examination.
Note: GST applies to the purchase price and other expenses mentioned.
Will my horse be insured?
ADHR will arrange insurance on all horses purchased for a period of 90 days, on fall of the hammer. Following this period, an individual owner can elect to insure their own share.
What happens after Sale day?
The Sales preparation is intense, as is Sale day, so we like to give our purchases some downtime. All horses will spend at least a month on our farm in Cambridge, prior to being broken in.
Who will break my horse in?
All horses purchased by ADHR are broken in and educated by Brent Donnelly, Arna's father. Brent has been a prominent horse breaker for over 40 years.
What happens in the first six months following purchase?
We believe the first six months are key to your horse's future and ongoing wellbeing. With this in mind, our main focus is on education and development.
Once your horse is broken in it will go the spelling paddock to grow, develop and enjoy the lush Waikato grass before commencing it's next preparation.
How will I be kept informed of my horse's progress?
At ADHR we believe communication is one of our key points of difference.
Real time updates which can include written messages, photos, videos and audio are sent on a regular basis.
We'll add you to our mailing list so you'll receive our monthly newsletter and race previews.
Social media channels include Facebook and our website.
When can I visit my horse?
You're welcome anytime! Our door is always open, just get in touch and we'll make it work.
How do I connect with other owners?
At some point during your horse's second preparation we'll have an open day. You'll be able to come and watch your horse work and visit our stable in Cambridge.
