Perfect Bet broke her maiden status at Alexandra Park on Thursday night in what was her sixth start.  When she rolled to the top at the 1300 metre mark the camp were quietly confident that she'd live up to her name.

After some very encouraging runs, it looked her race to lose.  She was backed in from $3.00 at opening, to $2.30 and never gave punters any cause for concern as she turned for home.

"I thought if she found the front and ran them even she'd be very hard to beat" said Donnelly.  "It was certainly a thrill to train my first winner for Paul and Mary Kenny.

"She's definitely got a touch of toughness about her and in time I think she'll find a nice turn of foot.

"She was entrusted to us as an early 2 year old after having a reputation as being a bit of a handful.  In all honesty, we've never had a problem with her - she's just a typical filly who can get a bit cranky now and again" said Donnelly.

Her breeding certainly speaks for itself being a daughter of Bettor's Delight out of 7 race winner (including group 1 performer) Ideal Belle.
