His first up effort was super, but he does have a horror draw. With any sort of luck I'd like to think he's a top three player.
Race 5 @ 7.50pm - #4 The Surfer, #5 Mako & #8 Little Spike
Our first runner is The Surfer. In hindsight, I think we should have gone back first up as he ended up doing too much work. His work since has been very good so stick with him.
Mako was super in the Northern Stakes and I see no reason he can't continue on. He looks a handy each way chance.
I'm sure Little Spike will have derived plenty of benefit from his first start back. Even from his wide draw he has to be considered one of the better hopes.
Race 6 @ 8.15pm - #6 Jolimont
He got home nicely after being a bit tardy away in the Spring Cup. I'm confident he'll step cleanly, and with a 20 metre start on two of his key rivals, he should be right amongst it.
