Keep It Klassy coming back to scale

It's not often you train a winner for both parents within a week, but Arna did just that when the ever consistent Keep It Klassy won at Northern Headquarters last night.  Turn the page back to 6 June and it was promising 3 year old Mako who put himself in the spotlight.

Keep It Klassy is raced by Mother Mary, and Mako is raced by Father Brent and his wife Sue.

"It was really special that both horses won within a week of each other" said a happy Donnelly.

"Dad and Sue have had a lot of luck with the horses they've purchased from the weanling sales over the years.  Mum on the other hand hasn't been so lucky with horse ownership but she's found an honest toiler in Keep It Klassy."

"We had a bit of a lean run in May with a virus hitting some of our racehorses, but with the recent wins it looks like we're out the other side of it," said Donnelly.

"Mako has been a surprise package.  He's not a great track worker so it's been hard to get a line on him.  Having said that, his work prior to his last win was top notch."

Owners Brent and Sue Donnelly have two very handy horses on their hands, the other being The Surfer who has recently come back into work.

"You can't fault a thing about Keep It Klassy," said Donnelly.  "She's finished in the first four in her last thirteen starts and generally raced every other week.  She's the ultimate Eftpos card that just keeps giving."

Both horses will look to continue their good run of form at the next Alexandra Park meeting.
