Manawatu Raceway - 16 March 2023

Race 2 @ 5.54pm - #4 Pacing Hope

She's been racing great and slides into a field where she looks a competitive chance.  I see her as a handy each way player.

Race 4 @ 6.44pm - #3 Crusader

This guy went super against the big boys at Cambridge last week when clocking a very respectable 3.23 for 2700 metres.  Going by his odds, it looks like the bookies didn't pay a lot of attention.  I think he's a key player.

Alexandra Park - 17 March 2023

Race 3 @ 7.45pm - #4 Le Major

He made up plenty of ground late in the run home last start.  It's a small field and he has a bit of a tricky draw.  His work has been very  pleasing - he just needs a bit of luck to feature.

Race 5 @ 8.40pm - #7 Jolimont & #8 Mr President

I couldn't have been happier with the last start performance of Jolimont.  It was a very tough effort against the cream of the crop.  He hasn't been able to pull a draw but let's hope we get a few favours and see him getting home.

Lightly raced Mr President deserves a shot in this race following two very tidy runs.  The draw gods have also played against him.  If he's running home I can't ask for more than that.

Race 6 @ 9.05pm - #2 New York Minute, #4 Rough And Ready & #6 Kango

We start with New York Minute who all but won at Cambridge last week.  With a clean getaway I'd like to think he's a competitive chance.

He's tough, rough and he's ready.  Yes you know who he is - Rough And Ready.  He was massive last start on his home track off a big handicap.  Keep him safe.

Kango is back on a new campaign.  He's had one quiet workout and a good final hit out at home to prepare.  We won't be looking to break any records off the back mark.  If he's doing his best late in the piece I'll be chuffed.
